Kinlochewe is the perfect base for anyone wishing to tour the North-West Highlands. It stands at the southern end of beautiful Loch Maree, the eastern border of the Fisherfield Forest (well known asThe Last Great Wilderness) and the upper end of Glen Torridon. The famous Inverewe Gardens are 35 miles away, the Isle of Skye 50 miles away and the ferry and fishing port of Ullapool 58 miles away.

The Torridon area is renowned and loved for its outstanding beauty and grandeur by hill walkers, mountaineers, cyclists, photographers, bird-watchers, those seeking the outdoor life and those wanting a quiet place to get away from it all. Kinlochewe nestles at the feet of two iconic mountains: Beinn Eighe and Slioch.  Glen Torridon contains the lovely Lochs Clair & Coulin and culminates in the world-famous Loch Torridon. The area boasts four giants of the North-West: Slioch (3218ft - 981m), Beinn Eighe (33214ft - 1010m), Liathach (3461ft - 1055m), and Beinn Alligin (323 ft - 985m). There are also several superb golden and white sand beaches within easy reach of Kinlochewe on which to enjoy a rest day from hill walking or touring.
